Back again…

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything. Maybe I’ll go back and recap, maybe I won’t. I don’t really think too much has happened besides moving into my own place. I’m still getting situated, but all is good.

I guess the real reason I wanted to start blogging again is because I need somewhere I can write down the journey I’m getting ready to embark on. Weight lost. I haven’t been happy with my body in a long time and I’ve been doing nothing about it. All that is changing. I joined a program, I got a membership at the local rec center and I’m really ready to get all this extra weight off and maintain my weight after it’s all said and done. Realistically I’d like to lose 50 lb., but I’ll start with the first 25 and go from there. I’ve gotten all my bad eating habits out of the way this weekend and I’m ready to start fresh. That’s not to say I won’t eat things I used to. I just can’t do it all the time like I’ve been doing especially since I haven’t worked out on a consistent basis in a long time.

Him Again

So… I received a call from you-know-who on Friday.

I’m very satisfied with the outcome of our conversation and I look forward to the future and what it has to bring.

I will (probably) elaborate more when I find the words to express how I’m feeling.

Spend, Spend, Spend

The title says it all. That’s all I seemed to do this weekend.

Between buy the TV and finally getting living room furniture, you’d think I’d be done shopping by now. Nope. I’m going to buy my TV stand after work and then I’ll take a break until Thursday when I need to buy cleaning supply and a few basic needs for the apartment. Friday I plan to buy groceries after I get the placed cleaned up and have my first wave of furniture delivered. Besides these things and some organizational things, I don’t plan to buy anything else until my mother comes back into town. I figure I’ll have a few weeks to be in my place and decision how I’d like to decorate before I’ll buy anything I “can’t live without”.

Already the 1st?

I can’t believe it’s July already. I’m moving next week. That’s kind of weird to say. Last week, it seemed like it would take forever for my moving day to get here. Before I know it, I’ll be in my place. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t ready though. After living with all my family, I’m definitely ready to put a little space between us. I’m pretty sure I’ll be over once or twice a week though.

My mother has been out of town on business since the end of May. On Friday, she’ll be home for the weekend and I’m hoping we’ll get to have some mother/daughter time and discuss my apartment and what I’d like to do with my space. She’s offered me lots of decorative items, so I will be saving a lot of money since we have similar taste (I’ll prove it when I move in and take photos after I’m settled). So far, she’s been approving of the pictures I’ve sent of things I’m looking at. Hopefully with her here, I’ll finally make a decision on living room furniture. One thing that is for sure – we’ll end up at the nail shop (I’m in desperate need of a fill), but who knows where after that.

This weekend I’ll also have a little bit of father/daughter time. Dad and I will be taking a trip to Best Buy to purchase a television for my apartment. I’m excited, but at the same time I’m nervous. I’m spending a lot of money, but it’s all to live comfortably and I’m doing it without going into debt. We’ve been looking at televisions for a couple of weeks now and I think we’ve finally made a decision on what I’m getting.

Computer problems

I have to take my computer to the Apple store and get it fixed because I have a crack in my case near the track pad. I’ll probably be without a computer for a day or two if they can’t fix it immediately, but I’ll most likely post from work if I’m not busy. I do have things to do to prepare for my move, so that might occupy my time until I have computer back.

So happy to be a Mac user. Whenever I have an issue, they take care of me right away without any issues. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

In other news, I’m with running Tiger and would love to have Leopard, but I think I’ll wait until I get into the new place. If I’m waiting, I might as well wait until Snow Leopard comes out in September.
